“Away From Me”
“Patience is waiting. Not passively waiting. That is laziness. But to keep going when the going is hard and slow — that is patience”
It has been quite some time since I have posted on my tumblr. This past summer was full of a lot of laughs, music, and traveling. I was able to complete the writing of my full album “Away From Me”, get a band together, and craft my skill as a recording artist. One of the many highlights of my summer was opening for JoJo at The Recording Academy in New York City, NY. Along with opening for JoJo, I was able to showcase my full band, opening for Cash Cash at The Crocodile Rock Cafe in Allentown, PA.
Now that I’ve gotten a band together and my album is written, it’s time to hit the studio. “Away From Me” took me close to a year to write. The key to this album, in my eyes, was patience. I approached this album with an open mind, and wanted to share my first year experience of college with those listening. I was living in a new city and meeting new people, so many of which have inspired me.
September 24, 2011 my drummer and I will head to the studio to track the drums for the album. I am so blessed to have such amazing fans, friends, and family that continue to believe in my dream. Thank you for being patient. I can assure you the wait will be worth it. Rome wasn’t built in a day! I can’t wait for you all to hear these new songs.
